Mama Kitomari

Let me introduce you to Mama Kitomari.  She is the cook and childcare worker at the residential centre, and is a woman who is always smiling. She has a big heart for the children, and loves it when the volunteers step into the kitchen to help out. 

 While I was helping in the kitchen one day, she instructed me to ‘chop’ the carrots… and then proceeded to cackle with laughter at how the volunteer ‘chopped.’ By the end of my visit to Tanzania I was thankfully able to chop up to Tanzania standards!
