Where do the kids come from?

A question I got asked is "where do the kids come from?"

In downtown Arusha there are currently over 3,000 street children. This means that their parents have died, the child has run away, or the family is unable to care for the child. Whatever the cause, the children living on the streets are forced to do odd jobs (or steal) to purchase a tiny bit of food (or alcohol, drugs), and spend their nights running from the police, trying to find somewhere safe to sleep. SOL does outreach: which means they start by spending time on the streets, building relationships with the kids. Talking to them, getting to know the families, and walking around.  There honestly aren't really words to describe seeing kids living in that way.. Which is why SOL is such a necessary organization in Arusha. OUTREACH is the first step!
