Update

Hello All,

Over the past weeks the volunteers, and staff at the Sunrise of Life centre have been very busy doing projects, and taking care of the children.

An existing building on the property has been renovated into a chicken house. A new roof was put on this building, and a chicken run was built for the chickens. As well 4 chicken huts have been built by the volunteers. Because of this Sunrise of Life now has enough room for over 100 chickens. 50 chicks were purchased about 2 months ago, and soon will be ready to be put into the chicken house. Soon these chickens will be laying eggs. These eggs will be sold at the local Market and revenue will be put back into the chicken project, and other projects at the centre. The Sunrise of Life team is beyond excited to see this project be a reality.

This week we hope to start building a tower in the garden for a water tank. Although there is already a water tank in the garden, which is being filled with water from our friends at Upendo Leprosy Home, having the tank on a tower will allow for  a more effective garden.

As well the big boys dormitory has been fixed, as much of the outside stucco was falling off. This has been repaired by local workers, and volunteers.

The volunteers have also been very busy giving remedial support to the children after school, watering the garden, and most of all loving the children.

Pictures to come!!

-The Sunrise of Life Team
