Habari

Hello Everyone,

Just a short update on the happenings at the centre.

I phoned Neema this morning and everything is going as it should be at the centre.

1 of the 2 cows are still producing milk and now are in the solid shelter which the Rotary Club of Canmore funded in 2012. Only 1 cow is producing milk at this time, as the other one is pregnant. We are expecting a new calf at the centre this coming June. The milk sales brings on average $50.00 per month. This is enough for the project to be sustainable, plus some extra which can be put towards the garden and chicken project.

We are hoping to start the chicken project in the coming month. Progress has been slow on the projects during the past month as Neema and others have been very busy filing the Annual Return for the Government of Tanzania. This return should be done this week, and thereafter we will start in earnest working on the projects for which we have funds for.

The Rotary Club of Lethbridge East donated funds for Kitchen/Classroom and Nurse room renovations  this past year. The RCLE also donated funds for the Garden Project and Chicken Project. At this time the Chicken Project is the only project waiting to be completed.

Planning is underway for the Annual Dinner and for the upcoming Volunteer Trip to Tanzania this coming summer. If you would like more information on the Volunteer Trip to Tanzania please contact us at sunriseoflife.sol@gmail.com. We still have 1-3 spaces open.

Also please scroll down for information on the Annual Dinner. We are looking for volunteers for the day of the dinner. If you would like to volunteer that day please email or call us!!

Thank-you to all for your continued support!!
