Niaje (Hows it going?) Happy New Year!!!!

Hello Everyone,

We hope you are all well. Following this blog are some pictures of some activites with the children of the centre. Soon after obtaining control of the centre we cleaned all the very messy storage rooms (some of which are actually dormitories). At times it felt like we were cleaning out a ghost organization as the stuff in storage had not been touched for over 5 years. In one room we found allot of books, donated from Michigan. Although these books were not meant for the centre they the story goes that they came in the same container that some other donations came in. This is over 5 years ago but the books are still meant for a university somewhere in Tanzania. In this picture you can see Ema taking the books out of storage so they can be sorted.

This year we combined the Graduation, Christmas and Goodbye party for the Sol children. In this picture you can see Hadji and Amina doing a comedy. The children love acting, and they did a very good job!!! Hadji is currently in his second year of a Tourism Diploma and is doing great. He left for Mwanza (where his college is 12 hours away) on Saturday. Amina is going to Uru boarding school in two weeks. She is very excited for this opportunity.

The village children were invited for the celebration. In the picture below you can see them enjoying the wonderful meal that was prepared by Mamma Vumi and other village Mamma's. On this day over 200 adults and children were served!!

The children had a extraordinary Christmas this year because they all received gifts. All the children received a shirt and as a group present we gave the children a DVD player. Here you can see Godbless opening the gift for all the children. Godbless and his brother Davis went to Green Valley English Medium recently. They also were very excited for the opportunity.

Nuru playing with his Christmas gift. Thank-you Canada!!!
Finally, to top the season off all the children received a trip to a local swimming pool. Tanzanite opened their pool to our centre so that that all the children could enjoy their day. We rented two dalla dalla's and took all the children and food for the day. Mamma Vumi cooked at the pool and we had a wonderful day!! check the pictures for proof :)

The long awaited day has finally arrived!!! after 2 years
