Tis the Season
Hello Everyone,
This Christmas season has been especially special for the Children of Sunrise of Life Tupendane. In addition to music and good food the children also received Christmas gifts and got to go swimming!! On Monday we hired a dalla dalla loaded up the food the kids and the cooks and headed to Tanzanite, a local swimming pool. We spent the day at the pool swimming and having a good time. It was a good release for the children and they all had a blast!!
Right now we are very busy getting all the children ready for school. This year there are 11 children going to Boarding School. 8 of these are new boarding school students so that adds to the work as they have extra requirements. Boarding school gives these children a much higher chance of success. All the children are looking forward to going back to school!! Godfrey, Karim and Gabrielle have received the results of their standard 7 exams and they have all passed. This means that they will be joining secondary school this January.
Our garden has been suffering these past days because of the intense heat. Right now we are in a thunder shower so hopefully that will help the garden.
We are still in a very high need of more donations to carry out activities that were planned. In order to have all the children go back to school, receive daily food, and other basic needs we NEED YOUR HELP. There are a number of ways you can donate. You can send a cheque written to Sunrise of Life to Box 351 Coaldale AB. You can donate online through PayPal. You can also deposit money directly into the Sunrise of Life Account. Remember that if you are a Canadian all donations are tax deductible.
