Our orphanage, Children for Children’s Future, is in trouble and we need your help.
As most of you know we are volunteering at an orphanage just outside of Arusha, Tanzania. The orphanage was set up in 1994 for street children to come and live and be able to go to school. When the founder of the orphanage passed away it went through a serious of corrupt managers. Once again we feel that the management at CCF is not looking out for the children’s best interests. Volunteers will no longer be allowed to work with CCF due to the lack of cooperation over money on the management’s part. This means that the children at CCF are going to suffer. A wonderful person has donated funds for all of the kids at CCF to be able to go to school so that basic need has been met. Before the last 2 volunteers leave on September 3, 2010 we want to make sure that their other basic need of food will also be met. The average cost of 1 month of food, including some fruit, vegetables, soap, firewood, etc. is approximately $400USD.
The children at CCF have all lived on the street for 1-2yrs at some point in their life. They all say that they are afraid for when volunteers leave because they do not want things to go back to the way they were at CCF where they went days without food, and had to burn bunk beds for firewood to cook. That is an example of how things were at CCF 8 months ago before volunteers were working there. We want these wonderful kids to be able to stay at CCF and finish school but we need your help for money for food to be able to do that. Any donation that you can afford to make will go a long way at CCF. Tom & I will directly control and distribute any donations made. Tom Case and I are so glad that you are able to make a difference in the lives of these children. What a wonder that they can still get help from you. Keep doing the best you can. We are also glad we went to Africa and are also glad to be home again. We had a great time. We are not set up for pay pal, so we are bringing a check to your parents. We hope the Lord will bless the means.
